location and travel details
It was brought to my attention that some people don't know where this wedding is. Goof! It will all go down in beautiful Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. It's where I grew up and where Tim's parents currently live. The Ceremony will be at Susquehannock state park followed by a reception at St. John's Episcopal Church, which is located in Lancaster City.
If you're coming from Philadelphia or New York City it's super easy to take Amtrak to Lancaster, but then you'd have to take a taxi or carpool with other guests to the ceremony and reception sites. I'd recommend driving to the wedding if possible. The countryside in Lancaster is gorgeous and if time allows, you may want to explore.
If coming from Richmond or D.C. you gotta drive. Every time I've wanted to go to Pennsylvania to visit family, it's been a headache trying to find a direct train or bus. It doesn't exist. You can make the drive in 4 hours, but watch out for D.C. traffic!
If you are flying, Harrisburg International is the closest to Lancaster, about 33 miles away. It's a smaller airport, but offers non-stop flights from Boston, Chicago and Atlanta. Philadelphia and Baltimore-Washington Int'l airports are both about an hour and a half away from Lancaster, but are good options. They are your best bets if flying internationally.

Lodging
Okay...change of plans. Tim and I just spent the weekend in Lancaster working hard on the wedding and visiting with family. After looking into the Marriott and realizing they were trying to rope us into a very binding contract....We're still searching for hotels. It's still early, so don't fret. We will update with information as soon as we make some decisions.
